10 Days Tanzania & Kenya Safari Itinerary

The Maasai Mara National Reserve is renowned for the Great Migration, where vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, and other animals traverse the savanna in search of greener pastures. Amboseli National Park is famous for its elephants, offering incredible opportunities for up-close encounters with these majestic creatures.

Day 1: Nairobi

Pick up at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport then drive to Namanga border where we will have a short break for lunch then transfer to your accommodation in Tarangire for relaxation for your next adventure.

Day 2: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast our guide will pick you up from the Lodge and then drive to Tarangire National Park for game viewing, after completing registration at the Tarangire National Park gate and having a short break, the game drive will begin. From the open roof of the vehicle you will experience the season swamps, savanna, and Tarangire River in search of many animals including Zebra waterbucks, ungulate wildebeest, giraffe, common eland, topi, cheetah, crocodile, serval, stable files, lion, oribi, Thomson’s gazelles, impala, buffalo, lesser flamingos, elephant, and many other animals. It’s possible that you will catch a glimpse of a lion stalking its prey or leopards watching and relaxing in the trees above. You will have your lunch inside the park and then proceed with the game drive until late afternoon where you will drive to Karatu for dinner and overnight

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park

Pick up from the Lodge early morning and start a beautiful journey across the Great Rift Valley for a full game drive then in late afternoon return back to the Lodge for relaxation.

The park has breathtaking scenery and is well famous for its lush acacia forest, giant figs, and mahogany trees, as well as the growing population of baboons and blue monkeys. Lake Manyara National Park is home to giraffes, elephants, impalas, buffalos, hippos, waterbucks, wildebeest, common warthogs, and many others. The landscapes of Lake Manyara are something that cannot be described with words, and the game drive along the lake provides stunning photos. After game drive we proceed to Serengeti Thorn Tree Camp for dinner and overnight

Day 4-5: Full day at Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park is situated in the heart of Tanzania, the Central Serengeti encompasses the world-famous Seronera Valley which is known for its prime wildlife-viewing opportunities. This picture- perfect landscape is characterized by endless stretches of savannah-covered open plains, interspersed by rocky outcrops of granite, scattered with acacia woodlands and covered in a network of rivers and streams. The Central Serengeti forms part of the great wildebeest and zebra migration and provides an ideal habitat for a variety of wildlife such as giraffe, impala,waterbuck, hippo,elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, serval, and much more. Popular activities include: game viewing, cultural tours, horse riding safaris, and hot air ballooning over the spectacularly scenic terrain.

On this day you will have a full day in Serengeti National Park, we are completely flexible with your preferences and this day will be organized according to your wishes. On every day of the safari, our guide will discuss with you the best time for you to see the animals, including the game drive and the schedule of the day. For example, on this day you could do a morning game drive, return to the Camp for lunch, and relaxation, and finish with an afternoon game drive or you could do a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park - Ngorongoro Crater

Located in Northern Tanzania, the Ngorongoro Crater is best known for its natural beauty and abundance of diverse wildlife; which makes it one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations. Surrounded by Tanzania’s highlands, this UNESCO-listed crater is said to be the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Visitors can look forward to spotting the world-renowned Big Five and a host of other wildlife species including large herds of zebra and wildebeest.

It is famed as one of Tanzania’s best tourist attractions offering visitors an array of wonderful activities including excellent bird watching, trekking, wildlife viewing, mountain biking, and visiting a local Maasai village. Don’t miss the opportunity to jump on an excursion to the magnificent Olduvai Gorge. After breakfast, we leave Serengeti and drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area to descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive until late afternoon where we’ll proceed to your Camp to have dinner, and overnight.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha

After breakfast we depart to Arusha, you will have time to visit the city and have local shopping. Ensure you get some good rest and recharge yourself for another eventful day.

Day 8: Arusha to Namanga Border - Gateway to Maasai Mara

After breakfast, we drove back to Namanga, To have a short break then proceed to Kenya. We will cross over to the Kenyan side and drive to Maasai Mara, Kenya and Rest for the night at the lodge

Day 9:Maasai Mara National Reserve

Today there will be a possibility to take an optional hot air balloon ride (costs excluded). “Take to the skies for the ultimate Maasai Mara wildlife adventure, soaring in a hot air balloon over herds of game to the inner reaches of the Mara. You’ll ascend in the early morning when winds are calmest. Watch as the professional crew fills the balloon with hot air. Slowly the big, colorful bag begins to bulge and take shape. After your incredible flight, it’s time to come back down to earth for breakfast.

You might wonder what all the ordinary people are doing on this perfect African morning! Before leaving, the pilot will present you with your balloon flight certificate, and then you’ll enjoy a game drive en route back to the camp. No flight of the imagination can match this airborne experience! If you don't opt for the balloon ride, you will enjoy a full day of uninterrupted game drive. OR. After breakfast, you will get out for the full-day game drive with a picnic in search for the big five wildlife Dinner and overnight at Jambo Mara Safari Lodge or similar (full board)

Day 10:Maasai Mara – Nairobi

Start the day with an early breakfast at the lodge before heading out into the wildlife-rich Maasai Mara. The morning is spent exploring Maasai Mara on a rewarding game drive, soaking up the idyllic African safari landscapes and watching wildlife.

After the activity we drive back to Nairobi via Narok County enjoying spectacular views of the Great Rift Valley en-route then to the airport for your flight back home.
